How to choose suitable parameters of metal fiber laser cutter machine?

TIME:09-03 2014

For the same enclosed metal fiber laser cutting machine, although it has high accuracy and high efficiency, a slight modification of any parameter while cutting will produce different results. So how can we choose the most suitable machine parameters? Let's take a look at how to accurately grasp the parameters of metal laser cutting machine!

HOW TO SELECT THE AUXILIARY GAS PRESSURE OF THE METAL FIBER LASER CUTTING MACHINE?

In the cutting process of the 1500w metal fiber laser cutting machine, the auxiliary air pressure can blow away the slag during cutting and cool the heat affected area. Auxiliary gases include oxygen, compressed air, nitrogen and inert gases.

For some metals such as aluminum alloys and non-metals, inert gas or compressed air is generally used to prevent combustion of the material. And for most metallic materials, reactive gases such as oxygen are used. Because oxygen can oxidize the metal surface and improve the cutting efficiency.

When the auxiliary air pressure is too high, eddy currents appear on the surface of the material, which weaken the ability to remove the melt. Worse still, it will result in a wider gap and a rough cut surface. But when the air pressure is too low, the melt cannot be completely blown away. And the bottom surface of the material will stick to the slag. Therefore, the auxiliary gas pressure must be adjusted during cutting to achieve the best cut quality.

HOW TO CHOOSE THE LASER POWER OF THE LASER CUTTING MACHINE FOR METALS?

The power of the metal fiber laser has a significant influence on the cutting speed, the width of the cut, the thickness of the cut and the cut quality. And the amount of laser power required is determined by the material and mechanism. For example, materials with good thermal conductivity, a high melting point and high reflectivity require higher laser power. Generally, there is the most moderate laser power to get the best cut quality in the laser cutting process. If the power is further reduced or increased, excessive slag or burn will occur, resulting in decreased processing quality.

Also, as the discharge voltage of the steel metal fiber laser cutting machine increases, the laser intensity will increase due to the increased peak input power. So that the diameter of the stitch and the width of the slit increase. As the pulse width increases, the average power and width of the laser slit will increase. Usually, as the pulse frequency increases, the slit also widens. When the frequency exceeds a certain value, the width of the slit decreases.

HOW TO DETERMINE THE FOCUS POSITION OF THE LASER CUTTING MACHINE FOR METALS?

The focus position is the distance from the laser focus to the workpiece surface. It directly affects the roughness of the cut surface, the slope and width of the cut and the adhesion of molten residues. If the focus position is too far forward, the amount of heat absorbed by the lower end of the workpiece will increase. When the cutting speed and auxiliary air pressure are constant, the molten material will adhere to the bottom surface of the part in a spherical shape. If the position is delayed, the heat absorbed by the lower end will be reduced. So that the material in the cutting seam cannot be completely dissolved. And some sharp, short residues will stick to the bottom surface of the plate.

Typically, the focus position should be on the surface of the workpiece or slightly below it. However, different materials have different requirements. When cutting carbon steel, the cut quality is better when the focus is on the surface of the plate. When cutting stainless steel, the focus should be about 1/2 the thickness of the plate for best results.

HOW TO CHECK THE CUTTING SPEED OF METAL LASER CUTTERS FOR SALE?

In the process of laser cutting of metals, the cutting speed has a significant influence on the quality of the cutting material. The ideal cutting speed will make the cutting surface smooth and there will be no slag at the bottom of the material. When the auxiliary gas pressure and laser power are constant, the cutting speed is inversely proportional to the width of the cut.
